Norbain can now offer customers the new Xpass from Suprema, a smart IP based access control unit that provides high-level security no matter the size of the system.
Featuring next generation IP access control system structure, Xpass acts as a smart reader and controller with distributed intelligence concept. Unlike traditional access control systems this ensures that, even if another module in the system fails, the units will continue to control access to an area as appropriate.
RS485 and Wiegand interfaces allow for inclusion into legacy systems, saving time and money during installation. Xpass is fully compatible with Suprema’s BioStar systems, offering extra flexibility of biometric IP access control systems to meet different needs and requirements.
With a capacity of 40,000 users, 128 time schedules, 128 access groups and 64 zones, there is almost no application the Xpass cannot handle. “Thanks to its IP65 rated casing, the units can also be safely installed both internally and externally,” explains Gareth Ellams, Norbain’s access control manager. “The sleek and aesthetic design also allows the units to fit seamlessly with a range of architectures.”
