Advancing the integration of analogue and IP technology, Sony's new range of SNT-EX/EP Series video encoders is now available through Norbain.
A truly hybrid offering, Sony's full complement of video encoders allows users to seamlessly integrate analogue and IP, and includes; 1CH/4CH box types, 4CH blade configurations, and 16CH/48CH 1U/3U Rack Stations.
Ensuring easy integration, SNT-EX/EP Series encoders are all ONVIF compliant, plus, they can all dual-stream JPEG/H.264, MPEG-4/H.264, or MPEG-4/JPEG video at full 30/25 fps and up to D1 resolution.
Featuring Intelligent Motion Detection on the 1CH/4CH box, and full-function 4CH blade models, the new encoder range makes it possible for legacy analogue camera systems to access the image improvements associated with IP technology. Utilising Sony's latest image enhancing VE and XDNR technology, the picture quality of the original analogue camera signals is improved, while converting them to a digital video stream for IP-based networks.
Overcoming the problem of delivering high-quality images in the challenging lighting conditions created by extreme contrast, the SNT-EX/EP Series encoders also employ Sony's unique Visibility Enhancer (VE) technology. Dynamically monitoring signal levels during image capture and processing, this technology reduces extreme levels of brightness within a scene, and critically, increases light levels in darker areas - to improve overall image quality and clarity.
Increased image noise levels resulting from signal amplification and image ghosting caused by slow shutter speeds when recording CCTV footage in low light environments is solved by XDNR (eXcellent Dynamic Noise Reduction). Using advanced 2DNR and 3DNR signal processing methods, XDNR removes random and fixed noise, and in turn, eliminates the motion blur that creates 'ghosting'.
"The high-performance SNT-EX/EP Series encoder offering is completed by Sony's unique DEPA Advanced intelligent video and audio analytics," says Paul Jones, Norbain's Sony Business Development Executive. "This delivers greater intelligence to analogue cameras, while offering other features such as improved security. Combined with ONVIF compliance, the Sony encoders offer users flexibility and superior image quality."
