Launch of Vista VPD4 – the best camera in its class

Vista, the UK’s premier brand of CCTV equipment, has released the PowerDome Lite, a high speed colour dome camera, designed as the ideal, cost effective solution for the smaller retail market.
Vista has combined high performance, quality production and discreet packaging at a genuinely cost effective price, making the VPD4 range a unique offering in the market and a camera truly in a class of its own. The vandal resistant, miniature high-speed dome is just 145 x 117.2mm in size, whilst still offering a 10:1 optical zoom, allowing the operator to move in for closer inspection where required.
Four tours are available to the operator, each with 16 presets, multi-protocol compatibility and an impressive resolution of 480TVL. It is compatible with Vista and Pelco D telemetry control protocols via twisted pair or coaxial cables. The latter enables one cable to be used for both telemetry and video, making it ideal for retro-fit installations to replace static cameras.
As you would expect from Vista, quality hasn’t been compromised in bringing this cost effective solution to the market. "Ensuring the quality of all our ranges is paramount to us," emphasises Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director of Vista, "so the equipment has undergone a series of tests that will allow the customer to have full confidence in their purchase".
HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) standards have been conducted by a UCAS accredited, independent testing body. The units were subjected to operational temperatures of between -60ºC and +90ºC, far greater than their specified range of -10ºC to +40ºC.
"We were delighted with the results," says Mr Pritchard. "The cameras proved to be very rugged and resistant to extreme temperatures, conditions that greatly exceed their specified operating parameters".
The VPD4 is rated to IP66 for internal or external installation and is compatible with a selection of existing Vista PowerDome bracketry to ensure there is a mounting solution for your application. It is suited to a vast range of markets where there is a need for cost effective surveillance, without a compromise in quality. These markets include retail outlets, hospitals, schools, car parks, hotels, airports, and leisure facilities.
