Six True Day/Night cameras in new Protos 4 range

Jun 21 2005

True day/night cameras feature prominently in Protos 4, Vista’s new range of 36 mono, mono/colour and day/night cameras. The incorporation of a moving mechanical IR filter within the camera ensures true 24 hour surveillance, providing high quality colour images during the day and similar quality black & white images at night when used with IR lighting. "This is a significant technical improvement for Protos", explains Andrew Pigram, Vista Brand Director. "This capability will encourage installers to choose a true day/night camera to avoid the lack of spectral response seen with an ordinary mono/colour camera where IR lighting is used." Vista is the UK’s premier brand of electronic security equipment.

Protos 4 follows in the footsteps of Protos 3, the UK’s most successful camera range. The Protos 4 range offers the end user a vast array of choice from standard resolution mono cameras through to true day/night cameras. In addition an array of new features have been introduced that make Protos 4 amongst the easiest cameras to install and maintain. "We are very confident that Protos will remain the UK’s best selling CCTV camera", says Andrew Pigram.

Protos 4 is now the most extensive camera range on the market comprising eighteen cameras each of which is available in 12/24V or 240V power supply options. The range comprises mono, mono/colour and day/night cameras available with 1/2" or 1/3" SuperHAD or ExView chips and offering standard (330TVL colour, 380 TVL mono) resolution and high (540 TVL colour, 580 TVL mono) resolution image quality.

As installers have come to expect, Vista’s Protos 4 range includes a number of specification improvements over Protos 3. "We consulted widely on the development of the Protos 4 range," says Andrew Pigram, "and received over two hundred very useful feedback returns that fed directly into our product development process. We are determined to develop products that are easy to install, of high quality and reliable and meet the needs of end users regardless of size or application."

With a completely new aesthetic design across the entire range, Protos 4 cameras are amongst the most stylish as well as technically proven cameras for internal and external installations, regardless of the application or lighting conditions.
