Vista eclipse™ and Vista Graphica™ at Intersec 2005

Jan 13 2005

At Intersec 2005 (15-17 January, Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE), Vista, the UK’s premier brand of electronic security equipment, unveils Vista Graphica™ and Vista eclipse™, the two latest innovations to join the Vista product portfolio (hall 5, stand number 801).

A virtual matrix, Vista Graphica™ gives security operatives point and click access to any networked Triplex™ Digital Video Recorder, camera, Vista PowerDome™, or Impro access control unit. Based on a graphical representation of the premises rather than detailed knowledge of the system configuration itself, Vista Graphica™ significantly reduces staff training and acclimatisation as operatives no longer need to have a detailed knowledge of the buildings or system. It also simplifies even further the operation of the Triplex™ Columbus making it perhaps the easiest DVR to operate available on the market today.

"But perhaps most importantly," says Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director of Vista, "it will make it far easier for staff to track suspicious behaviour around a building or site as the graphical

‘map’ will enable operatives to ‘walk through’ the building camera by camera in a very logical progression as they follow their subject of interest."

The new GUI offers full integration with Impro’s IXP400 access control system and will work on networks with up to 320 cameras (20 Triplex units).

Vista eclipse™ represents a breakthrough in 360º camera technology. Based on the innovative yet proven IMTERA™ processor, Vista eclipse™ captures a high-resolution ‘fisheye’ image to output two completely independent analogue video outputs, each of which can display any combination from full panoramic view to up to four virtual cameras (VCAMs), each with independently controllable ‘electronic’ Pan Tilt Zoom (ePTZ) functionality.

Intelligent 360º video processing enables advanced alarm functionality that includes the automatic assignment of virtual cameras for motion detection and alarm activation.

Vista eclipse™ motion detection algorithms use state of the art background analysis techniques to minimise false alarms. Motion detection automatically triggers a VCAM while the camera continues to monitor the full panorama.

Mark Pritchard believes that Vista eclipse™ is different to other 360° cameras because of the high quality images, with advanced image processing all without the need for high powered external PC’s, making the Eclipse a totally self contained device.

"Delivering a quality of panoramic image never achieved before, Vista Eclipse is the perfect solution wherever continuous panoramic vision can assist in optimising surveillance effectiveness."

Also on display at Intersec 2005 will be a wide range of Vista cameras and domes ranging from entry level cameras and camera kits through to the latest in fixed and fully functional domes. These include several different models from the high resolution, high speed Vista PowerDome™ range of 6" internal and 7" external colour and day/night cameras and Vista’s own Vehicle number plate recognition solution, the Vista VNPR.

Vista is also exhibiting the full breadth of its digital video recording (DVR) product range. Positioned as the world’s first truly viable VCR replacement, the Vista Solo™ DVR features an 80GB removable hard disk, capable of providing seven days video storage in 24hr time-lapse mode. The range of Vista Triplex™ Columbus DVRs on display includes models with from 4 to 16 video inputs and hard disk capacities from 40GB to 1000GB.  The name Triplex™ reflects the unit’s three simultaneous operational capabilities - recording video from multiple cameras to an internal hard drive whilst simultaneously providing playback of recorded images and viewing live images – even on the same monitor.

Vista now has direct representation in the Middle East following the opening of a new sales and support office in Dubai by Norbain SD, Europe’s largest distributor of electronic security solutions. For more information, visit www.norbain.co.uk.
