Norbain LIVE04 – ‘bigger and better than last year’

Norbain SD announces that LIVE04, the series of regional trade events that took place across the UK in September, attracted even more visitors than last year's successful inaugural events. With LIVE04 featuring a total of 29 major brands on show and important seminars from leading industry experts, Huw Edwards, Marketing Communications Manager at Norbain SD reviewed its success:
"I'm very pleased to report that LIVE04 was even bigger and better than last year's events. We chose our exhibitors very carefully to fit into the Norbain LIVE concept. One requirement was to represent the full range of Norbain's offering - CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder Detection. Another important objective was to introduce brands that are new to Norbain this year - ACT, ADE, Rokonet, and Verint for example. Further, with the very high volume technologies such as DVRs, Domes, Access Control readers, we ensured that there were a number of different products exhibited so that visitors could make detailed comparisons and better understand the choices open to them. Finally, we chose the Norbain LIVE locations carefully to give exhibitors and visitors an atmosphere of informality and time to talk at a relaxed venue.
"The seminar programme is also central to Norbain LIVE. This year we featured important industry topics relating to criminology and police initiatives in retail crime prevention, taking a high level look at the purpose and capabilities of electronic security solutions".
Comments from visitors show they were clearly happy that these objectives were achieved. For example, Lee Buckenham of Hawkeye Security Systems of Huntingdon said: "I came to LIVE04 with the aim of looking at products in more depth than is possible at the big exhibitions, and I've done that. The show has been extremely useful to me."
Exhibitors were equally enthusiastic. Andy Lomax, Major Accounts Manager for Ultrak commented: "LIVE lets me talk one-to-one with existing and new customers about the domes we've brought to the show and other Ultrak products too. We have time to literally take the cover off our domes to get down to the details of the components inside. Visitors appreciate the opportunity to talk in depth, and so do we." This sentiment was echoed by Steve Nuttall, Sales Director of Access Control specialists TDSi, who found Norbain LIVE " an excellent platform for making a wide range of contacts and developing business."
Huw Edwards is already planning for next year: "We will look carefully at the feedback from LIVE04 as we start planning next year's events. Our challenge is to make the show accessible to even greater numbers of visitors while keeping the informal atmosphere that everyone at the events value so highly".
