Norbain SD, Europe’s largest distributor of CCTV and Access Control equipment, has announced plans to open a new multimillion pound purpose-built warehouse in Ashton Moss, Lancashire, to accommodate its future expansion plans. At 50,000 square feet the new warehouse is over twice the size and twice the height of Norbain’s current distribution centre five miles away in Bredbury. An additional 20,000 square feet of land is being leased alongside to future proof the investment.
Close to junction 23 of the M60, Ashton Moss is one of the North West’s prime distribution locations with excellent road and air links. Dermot Grace, Managing Director of Norbain says:
“Ashton Moss provides us with the opportunity to design and build a distribution centre specific to the needs of our business and our staff. It will support our plans for sustained growth well into the future and reflects the enormous confidence we have in our people to continue to grow the business. Our customers will benefit significantly as the new facilities will enable us to continue the expansion of our product portfolio while maintaining the highest possible levels of logistical service. Our staff will also benefit, with the new centre providing a state of the art working environment. Additionally, with the lease option on the neighbouring plot, Norbain’s presence in the North West is assured well into the future.”
Ashton Moss was chosen for a variety of reasons including its closeness to Norbain’s current site so the company’s excellent workforce could be retained. The new warehouse is also close to local airports and this is important for Norbain’s sales operation in Ireland and mainland Europe. The new facility will be built to accommodate increasing levels of efficiency, synchronised in line with Norbain’s predicted growth.
