Export successes grow as Norbain’s reputation spreads

Platinum Link SL, a CCTV installation company in Marbella, Spain, has been awarded the contract to install a 32 colour camera system at the prestigious 4* Gran Hotel Benahavis. As well as providing hotel security, the system was installed on the recommendation of UEFA following approval of the hotel’s football pitch as a training ground for visiting European clubs. After 20 years experience trading as Camera Controls in the UK, John O’Connell (Platinum Link’s Business Development Director) called on his experience of Norbain SD, Europe’s largest distributor of CCTV and Access Control equipment, to ensure reliability of product availability and supply.
The hotel’s CCTV security is divided into two unique systems giving separate internal and external monitoring with hard disk recording and full network capability over the hotel’s local area network. Internally the system comprises 16 Vista domes - 14 black fixed domes (VFD4V9C) and 2 Vista vandal resistant domes (VVRWM36C). Externally, the system comprises 16 Vista day/night cameras (VPC9032/CM). Both systems feed into two 16-channel Digital Sprite hard disk video recorders from Dedicated Micros (DS2SDX16C). Three Vista TFT monitors (two 17" Vista VFSM17/DW monitors and one 15" monitor VFSM monitor) provide control room staff with high quality viewing, recording and replay facilities. A Dedicated Micros multiplexer (SLDX16C) allows the reception staff to control nine of the external cameras whilst Dedicated Micros’ PC based Network Viewer software provides remote access for off-site hotel management.
