VCS signs Video Imaging Supplies as key UK distributor
Sep 23 2003
VCS, the German-based developer of digital data transmission systems for multimedia applications and real-time communications, has signed a UK distribution deal with Video Imaging Supplies (VIS).
Amongst the products now available through VIS are the Videojet 10 and Videojet 1000 network video servers, VIDOS management software for CCTV networks and the VIDOS network video recorder.
Speaking about the distribution agreement with VIS, Tim Williams, UK Sales Manager for VCS said:
“VIS is swiftly establishing an excellent reputation in the UK and Ireland IP marketplace for its breadth of products, technical excellence and delivery performance. We believe VIS will become a very important channel for VCS in the UK and that with its help, we will be able to replicate the success VCS has already achieved in Germany.”
The VideoJet 10 is an entry level video server offering S-VHS video encoding to provide high quality real time video images with bi-directional audio over IP networks. At the other end of the range, the VideoJet 1000 gives users the ultimate in digital video quality and performance to satisfy even the most stringent professional and corporate high-end requirements. The single channel network video codec combines an encoder and a decoder in a single compact box. The system provides simultaneous transmission in two compression standards: MPEG-2 guarantees needle-sharp images in DVD quality, which can also be saved on an optional local hard disk, while video images can be streamed simultaneously over the Internet using MPEG-4.
Described as intelligent management software, VIDOS software facilitates the set-up, administration and day-to-day management of networked CCTV systems. Capable of managing digital and existing analogue components VIDOS is fully scalable to any number of cameras and any storage configuration. For recording and playback, VIDOS integrates seamlessly with VIDOS-NVR, the VIDOS networked video recorder which features simultaneous recording, searching and playback of multiple cameras. Each unit can record up to 100 channels of MPEG-2 video data and the system can be extended to support any number of cameras just by adding the appropriate number of VIDOS-NVR units.
