Vista PowerDome™ sets new standard for price performance

May 1 2003

Visit Vista at IFSEC 2003: Stand L110, Hall 20, NEC, 19-22 May 2003

Compared with industry leading high-speed surveillance dome cameras, the feature rich Vista PowerDome™, the new range of dome cameras from Vista, the UK’s premier brand of CCTV equipment, "offers improved price performance and functionality when measured against a range of competitor criteria", according to Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director of Vista.

The Vista PowerDome™ range is available in a variety of models including a 6" internal colour and 7" external day/night dome. In daylight, the Day/Night camera functions as a colour camera sensitive to 0.2-lux. At night, when the light level drops below a user-defined setting, it automatically switches functionality to a monochrome camera working to a sensitivity of 0.08-lux. The range come as standard with 24 privacy zones with up to 8 being able to be displayed simultaneously and can have 16 local alarm inputs.

The Vista PowerDome™ range can be ordered with one of two video transmission options: coaxial or UTP (unshielded twisted-pair) via NVT, which can transmit real-time colour video over standard UTP CAT5e cable over distances of 1km. Other features include 12X digital zoom; an azimuth feature for displaying the camera’s direction of movement; auto iris with manual override; auto or manual focus; backlight compensation; 128 programmable presets; auto return-to-preset, -tour, -learn tour, and -autopan; and image stabilization, which compensates for unsteadiness in the camera’s mounting to project a more stable image. It also features up to four preset tours and up to three Learn Tours; learn tours that enable the user to program up to 3 minutes of manual operation.

All are simple to install, and most feature twist-on 1-dome attachments and a quick-release connector that facilitates removal of the camera yoke assembly. The PowerDome™ range is available in a choice of five housings, including pendant, wall, drop ceiling and external options. Internal dome bubble options include clear, tinted, smoked, gold, silver and chrome with clear and smoked options available for external mounting.

The Vista PowerDome™ range provides a full range of pan, tilt, and zoom movements that can be controlled with speeds up to 400° per second between preset positions, with a preset accuracy to 0.01°. Manual control speeds vary between 1.5° and 120° per second.  All Vista

PowerDomes use a 24-VAC power input and are controlled via RS485 or via coaxial telemetry available in a wide range of industry standard telemetry transmitters not to mention the award winning Vista Columbus Triplex hard disk recorder range.

"The Vista PowerDome™ combines functionality with affordability, the hallmark of the Vista brand", says Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director of Vista. "With the release of these new domes, Vista is again forcing price performance onto the industry agenda."

Visitors to IFSEC 2003 will be able to see the Vista PowerDome™ in operation by visiting stand L110.
