Vista announces IP connectivity for Triplex™ Columbus DVR

Jul 8 2003

Simultaneous multi site IP connectivity for the Triplex™ Columbus Digital Video Recorder (DVR) heads a list of major improvements to the Columbus product range announced today by Vista (www.vista-cctv.com), the UK’s premier brand of CCTV equipment.

Improvements to the Vista WaveReader management software, used to control, view live and recorded images from a Triplex™ Columbus unit via an Ethernet (WAN or LAN) network, include:

  • Operation on both fixed IP address and DCHP (Dynamic Host Configure Protocol) over TCP/IP networks.
  • Multi-site mode allows for simultaneous network viewing of images from up to four sites (maximum of 16 cameras per site)
  • Full remote programming, upload, amend, save and down load of programme settings on remote Triplex units, providing carbon copies of any unit including macros.
  • Synchronise multiple unit clocks by locking clocks to the host clock on the network or Internet using Time Network Protocols, thereby improving evidential integrity of recordings.
  • Alarm monitoring (System Triplex only)

Enhancements to the Triplex & System Triplex™ DVR’s include:

  • Automatic download of playback software on to CD-RW
  • Configurable email notification (with http link) such as alarm notification, camera failure, use of WaveReader software, on power-up following power failure
  • E-mail alarm images via TCP/IP networks (System unit only)
  • Integral web browser allows remote access via the internet.
  • Alarm and event search criteria viewed via thumbnails
  • Auto sensing of day/night cameras to ensure true black and white image recording

Commenting on the new enhancements to the Triplex™ Columbus, Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director of Vista, said:

"Network compatibility is becoming a standard requirement in digital recording. Alongside this, users are looking for more and more tools to help them automate and manage their security surveillance as effectively and efficiently as possible. These latest product announcements reflect these user priorities and demonstrate our commitment to ensuring that the Triplex™ Columbus remains at the top of its sector."

The Vista Triplex Columbus is ideal for a wide range of applications including Retail Premises, Financial Institutions, Government Facilities, Petrol stations, Business & Industrial premises, Museums and Shopping Centres.
