Find the ideal DVR at Norbain LIVE07

Aug 31 2007

Reading, UK

With the huge number of competing Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) on the market, it can be difficult to understand the differences between them and which is the most suitable for your application. Along with other exciting electronic security products from the worlds leading brands, the LIVE series of events give you the opportunity to see a wide range of DVRs from the premier manufacturers and take the time to ask questions and make your own comparisons.

More information can be found at www.norbainlive.com, but here is a brief look at some of the DVRs that will be at the events.

Announcing the launch of the American Dynamics™ Intellex ® Digital Video Management System and Network Client with enhanced v4.1 software. Intellex with new v4.1 software offers improved video resolution, enhanced system flexibility and better bandwidth management. A key feature of this version is that Intellex Ultra now supports 4 CIF resolution, 704x576 (PAL) format.

DiBos uses Bosch’s proven state of the art digital recording and communications technology and takes video surveillance to a new level. It is an integral part of overall security solutions for a wide range of applications – including banks, large retailers, railway stations, airports, city centers, industrial facilities, and office buildings.

Dallmeier’s full range of feature-packed DMS ’Leonardo’ DVRs will be on display at LIVE07. Three models are available offering up to 8 (DMS 80), 16 (DMS 160) or 24 (DMS 240) camera inputs. Each model features true hybrid (analogue/IP) functionality with real time simultaneous video and audio recording available on all channels.

The Dedicated Micros SD Range offers the user a high performance, easy to use plug and play DVR with selectable record duration providing up to 30 or 60 days recording.  Now available in 4^, 8, 12, 16 and 32^ channel variants, the SD Range offers consistent recording duration and smooth motion video on ALL cameras out of the box.  New "Normal, Medium and Low" recording models have been created which maintain consistent performance per camera, and off the shelf, guaranteed storage of up to 30 or 60 days. This allows the customer to build a CCTV solution that removes the need for extensive configuration. ^Available shortly after product launch.

The VR-509E digital video recorder from JVC has a built-in 320GB hard disk drive (HDD) and uses MPEG-2 compression. The recorder is equipped with advanced features to handle the most demanding of surveillance environments.

Samsung Techwin’s family of DVRs collectively provide solutions for a wide range of digital recording projects. The SVR-440 is a smart looking, cost effective four channel DVR that would not look out of place in any residential property or retail application. It has easy-to-use buttons to guide you through the simplistic menus and the option of remote control.

The DSR-2016 from Sanyo is priced as an entry level machine but can hardly be accused of being light on features. It incorporates a CD-R/RW for easy back-up and is supplied with up to 1TB of on board storage. Also new and on show at LIVE07 will be the DSR-5716, a high end network DVR that can act as a system hub.

Videoswitch’s entry level Vi-M1 "Micro" DVR will be on show for the first time at LIVE07. Utilising MPEG4 compression and available with 160 or 320 Gbytes capacity, the Vi M1 provides rock solid digital video recording at an affordable price. Features include simultaneous recording, live and playback, removable hard drives for easy servicing, DVD back-up and USB ports for easy extraction of evidence.

Vista can now offer DVR operation via Qeeps on its Blade and Navigator DVRs. Qeeps is the revolutionary service that reliably gives you total control of your DVR from your mobile phone from anywhere in the world. It can stream live or pre-recorded footage and will even notify you of any activity such as the activation of a motion detector, as well as giving full remote control of any PTZ cameras connected to the DVR.
